About my work
My fascination with tattooing has dictated my work throughout previous and recent projects. I am
captivated by the bold, vivid and dramatic colour that tattoos produce and have tried to reproduce
these in my collections. Theatrical and extreme fashion has always intrigued me. For my final exhibition I have
combined both 2D and 3D collected works to replicate my passion for these two topics.
My final work has sought to create a fusion between femininity, fashion and the drama of tattoo work by
exploring where they are similar, where they are opposite and if they easily co-exist.
'In an attempt to understand whether being tattoed and being feminine can be combined in a way that
exemplifies beauty I have tried to incorporate all these concepts into my work. I have looked at images
of tattoos both traditional and contemporary and incorporated the subject matter, primarily traditional
floral and bird designs as well as the ubiquitous heart shape with text running through it. I have
incorporated the density of their lines and their bold colours into work that offers a style of fashion that
is individualist, contemporary and what I consider feminine.'

It's card making time!
My older sister is getting married this year and asked me to make her invites. Being the fabulous sister that I am , I of course agreed. :P .Her chosen theme for her wedding was VW camper vans. So using that image I screen printed the images then foiled them onto card. I think they turn out cracking. Fair dos on me!
